Shine Bright Like A Diamond




Overcoat: J.Crew, blouse: Threadsence, skirt: Club Monaco, tights: American Apparel pumps: Forever21

I'm all about standing out, and one of the best ways to do so is with sequins! This sequin skirt in particular is a nice light color, so I can get away with wearing it during the day, throughout the year. Sequin skirts with one metallic color, or a dark color tend to feel very New Years Eve (This was actually my NYE outfit) thus making it harder to wear on a normal basis. Actually, I have seen black matte sequin pieces, in black that look great for daytime wear too.
 I love to play with textures, felt like a great mix to pair the lace top with this skirt! One of this upcoming Spring season trend will be the texture blocking, as seen on Ralph Lauren's and Roberto Cavalli's Spring/Summer 2013 collection. It will be in full effect this season, over its better known half, color blocking.

    oooh I'll definitely wear sequins after the new year! I always calm it down by pairing it with something muted and dark, and white too!
