It's hard not to feel special or like you're someone very important when you visit New York! It's a strange feeling I get every time i'm there. I love all of the commotion, the lively- ness, the sounds and the lights! It's hard not to smile or feel a twinge of excitement when you drive towards the New York City skyline, but for now I will reside in the sixth borough... Philadelphia!
When the Independent Fashion Bloggers team decided to hold their Conference this month, in the magical city of NYC, it was an opportunity not to miss!
The Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference was filled with a ton of information, from how to
take the best photos, how to protect your work, monetizing your site, and of course the all important SEO discussion! I filled page after page, in my notebook while a large quantity of others typed away on their laptops. I have to say, it was strange to be in a conference so driven by social media. What I mean by this is that the conference was very familiar to lecture styled classes, i.e. college courses, where you take notes and listen to the speaker. Most of the attendees were submerged in their phones and tablets, tweeting away and instagramming away. Don't get me wrong, I was also a part of that statistic and it was encouraged by the Jeanine Jacob, founder of IFB, to do so. I'm just amazed that this is the new wave of taking classes and courses because when I was in undergrad, it was considered rude to text. The new renaissance is here!
There were a handful of top bloggers and brands in attendance, Taylor Davies (Shutup I Love That Shirt On You), Lisa Salzer (Lulu Frost), Aimee Song (Song of Style), Leandra Medine (The Man Repeller), Katia Beauchamp (Birchbox) to name a few. It was great to hear how some of the top bloggers and well known brands achieved so much and about their humble beginnings, it was really inspiring and motivated me to want to do more.

My look, on this day was inspired by the shade with the most-est, burgundy! I wanted shades of reds and burgundy (to represent me!) with dark blues but most importantly, I wanted to be comfortable on a chilly 23 degree day. Thankfully this was before that terrible blizzard, Nemo, or these pumps would have been totally inappropriate!

There were free makeup sessions with Bare Minerals, free Cambridge satchel bags being given out, Monster headphones giveaway, DIY shirt sessions with Mail Chimp, even hair do overs with Frederic Fekkai! I had an absolute great time, one of the best cities in the nation, NYC, my girlfriends and discussions about one of my favorite things to do, blogging! Let's do this again IFB!
Dear readers, did any of you attend? If not, would you be interested in going to the next one?
