Tastemakers, Sophia Loren

One fine day I was out shopping with my friends and we walked into the Guess store. We were on the hunt for some new jeans. I noticed everything had a very romantic and retro feel to it, a few seconds later I looked at the campaign pictures strewn throughout the store and noticed that they were black and white images of a gorgeous woman, in a very vintage styled photography setting.  Ofcourse me being the curious person that I am, I had to find out who she was! She was one of the most famous, international actresses of the 60s-70s, Sophia Loren!

Sophia Loren is such a style icon to me because she exuded sexiness with a dose of glamour. Being able to pull off sexy while still maintaining class is not as easy as you would think. Every time, I try, I end up looking more and more reserved. Adding hints of tasteful sexiness is actually one of my style challenges I've given myself, we women have a small window of opportunity to show off, I figured if not now when?!

Let me not get started on her amazing brows and skin! Actually many starlets today have coveted her beauty such as Eva Mendes and Sofia Vergara. Besides being an amazing fashionista, miss Loren was also the first actress to win an academy award for a non- english speaking role, and that was just one among many others. Loren really set the standard for a lot of actresses in fashion and in film which is what makes her a great tastemaker.
