American Gothic

I'm an art history buff, when it comes to learning about history, it's always been the arts that could grasp my interest, naturally! As you can probably tell, my art history courses in undergrad were my absolute favorites, aced them every single time! When I got the chance to study abroad in Greece, I jumped at the opportunity! Being able to see with your own eyes the art work that we as students only got to see in textbooks, was phenomenal
One of my favorite paintings, is by Grant Wood, his iconic American Gothic painting. The painting with the couple standing in front of a colonial home. This outfit, totally reminds me of that painting. I've got the overalls, all I need is a pitchfork and a dude in a dress to recreate it!

Top: Club Monaco, jumpsuit: Forever21(similar), pumps: Shoemint(similar), hat: H&M(similar), jewelry: C/O Kiva Ford Glass,  jewelmint, gifted

Lately, I've been on a major black and white kick. It's timeless, easy and chic, the three words I'm working on evolving my style into! Don't get me wrong, I love myself some great trends but overall I want something that's going to last with me. I find myself adding more black pieces to my wardrobe, which you can never have too many of!

Something else I've been wearing alot is this gorgeous brain necklace! It's unique and handcrafted by a talented artist that was recently featured in an episode of American Horror Story.  I've been wearing it everyday, literally! I'm such a nerd, it practically describes me. It's also a great conversation starter! If you like this necklace, check out the rest of the collection, they're amazing! Dear readers, what do you think of this look? How do you wear your black and white pieces?
