Color Files, Cuppa

Illustrated by Jacquelne Davis Moranti

I'm a big nail polish junkie, painting my nails can be a very relaxing time for me, especially when I can sit down and not rush through it. Painting your nails can also be a way to introduce colors in your looks without sacrificing too much. One of my favorite things about nail polishes are the title of the colors! There's always some funny, and beautiful names given to the wide spectrum of colors, which I find to be much more irresistible than periwinkle blue or vibrant orchid. Names that go beyond the palette of the rainbow make you sit down and think, they get you to contemplate and visualize what that color might look like and not just on your nails.

I recently painted my nails a beautiful creamy, yellow color by Butter London called Cuppa. It's a faint yellow that reminds me of a buttery vanilla custard or buttery, smooth skin, unweathered by UV rays or mosquito bites. I'm not usually a fan of wearing yellows on my nails but it's an absolute gorgeous, milky shade of yellow. It also makes for a great pastel color for the spring season! As an artist, I tend to think conceptually a lot of times and the titles of varnishes are inspirational enough to get me to pick up a pencil and draw what I think the name alludes to. The above is an example of this and an insight into my mind. Dear readers what do you think of the color Cuppa? What does it make you think of?
