As the unofficial start to summer gets closer and closer, Memorial Day weekend, it seems more pertinent to update that tired swimwear wardrobe you have sitting in your closet from yester year! Many smart people tend to start looking for their bathing suits months before summer, I'm the type that waits for the weather to heat up. Buying swimsuits can be daunting but as long as you stick to what's current then you should be okay. Just like the trends of today, swim wear got a contemporary spin to keep up with them because whether you're planning a trip to the beach with your friends or going to the hottest pool party in town, you will want to make sure you look fun and fashionable! Time to pull out the sun block!
One of the big swimwear trends for this year is the chic sporty look, from athletic neoprene suits to minimalist, colorblocked head turners and punchy graphics. This is definitely a trend I'm considering to add to my arsenal of suits. Another plus is that a lot of athletic suits tend to have UPF built right into it which is great even on top of your spf 30 lotion. Some of my favorite sporty choices to bring out my inner swim athlete include Lisa Marie Fernandez, Zinke, Clover Canyon, and Kore Swim.
Nothing wrong with maintaining that darling, feminine side while youre soaking up some sun. Who say's you can't be girly with a little bit of bling?! That's right, embellished swimsuits are all the rage, from broaches to belts and even body chains. It takes the boring string bikini to all new heights by giving it life, ever after! I've always believed, it's all in the details! Some of my favorite pieces are Lisa Maree, Acacia Swimwear, Free People, Biko Regal, and Vanessa Mooney
This next one might not be something too obvious, rashguards. Rashgaurds are great because they provide sun protection and provide support for when your're surfing the waves or simply just wading in the low waters! Rashguards are making a big statement this year, they're not just for professional surfers, chic fashion mavens have started sporting this trend by wearing the bold and graphic printed versions. My top choices are Kore Swim, Seea, Zinke, Mara Hoffman and Tommy Bahama. Pair it with a solid boyshort and you'll be sure to get attention, anywhere you go!
This year's swimsuit trends are anything but overwhelming, you'll be sure to have fun finding the perfect suit for your summer swim shenanigans! From athletic inspired pieces to frilly embroidered suits and unique swim tops to have you swimming laps through the ocean waves. I'm excited to find my perfect swim pieces and to retire my sad, old bikinis! Dear readers, what are you most looking forward to when swimsuit shopping this year? Any trends have you pining for new pieces to add to your wardrobe?
