Do you remember the first time you went swimsuit shopping? Do you remember feeling the dread and anticipation from it? I remember it like it was just yesterday, I needed something for my family vacation since I had just retired my old swimsuit which had a print with The Magic School Bus on it! As I approached a new and difficult phase of life, teenage years, I literally put away and donated anything that made me seem "babyish" because I wanted to prove to my family that I was mature and that I could be talked to as an adult! One of the tasks into "adulthood" was to get a sophisticated bathing suit, one that didn't scream out Hello Kitty, Barbie, or My Pretty Ponies. The first swimsuit to make me feel like a lady was by RVCA.
RVCA transcends the boundaries of traditional sports lifestyle apparel by creating a brand that is more design driven and timeless. Brainchild of RVCA, PM Tenore from the beginning combined art, music, fashion, and subcultures to create a much more modern lifestyle in a new and genuine way. One of RVCA's biggest driving force is that the creative team is the essence of the brand by providing a refreshing way in which the market views art.
RVCA which is known for it's fantastic skate and surf cultured collections also produces fantastic apparel for everyday wear. The latest campaign is a collaboration with model Ashley Smith in which proves to be a gritty, yet feminine, opposites attract collection. From letterman sweaters to leather moto jackets, baseball tees to sleek leather shorts, there's simply no wrong way of wearing it!
And ofcourse, It wouldn't be RVCA without the swimwear! The Spring/ Summer 2015 collection is proof that this brand is here to stay and cause a ruckus, a ruckus in our wallets that is! The SS15 swimwear collection combines elements of sporty attire and femininity in the best way possible, the fabrics, the cuts, the design, it's totally a compilation of pieces for a woman who loves fashion yet is not afraid to step outside the box.
I fell even more in love with RVCA upon learning about their recent collaboration in Montauk. It was a collaboration amongst the women that represented the core of the brand, to inspire one another and lend their talents to create something better for the future of RVCA.
