Beauty Bit, Put Your Best Lip Forward

If there's anything I love more than shopping for new Fall footwear its definitely new lipsticks! A new lip shade can be your best accessory, and provide you with new found confidence. A bold new lip color may be all you need to boost your morale this upcoming season! When it comes to wearing daring lip colors, I tend to keep the rest of the makeup very minimal, that way the lips do all the talking! This Fall season, all of the latest shades will make you forget about the hot pink lipstick you loved all summer long. Why not have fun with your makeup, it's only temporary!

Berry hues will be your go to shade this season. It's sexy and dark, but not so dark that you feel like you've crossed over into the Twilight Zone. Blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, boysenberry... so many berries to choose from, how do you choose your jam? For me, I choose to go for rich colors with red undertones which also works for medium to darker complexions. Fairer complexions should try out a more sheer version. Some of my favorites are Tarte Lipsurgence in Moody, Nars Lipstick in Scarlett Empress, and Marc Jacobs Beauty Kiss Pop in Berry Sangria.

New season, new you, why not try out that bordeaux shade at your local beauty store?! Unapologetically sexy, wine hues are my favorites because of its non traditional look. Much darker and deeper in color than the berry hues. Bordeaux shades are the perfect update to your Fall wardobe, edgy yet polished. Some of my favorites are Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Shame, Nars Audacious Lipstick in Bette, Butter London Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Murray. 

For some, purple lipstick hues might be the most daring of all! Violet tones may look intimidating  in the tube but it's actually quite easy to pull off than you think. Keeping the rest of the face very neutral helps keep the focus on your pout. Whenever I wear a purple shade, I tend to keep my ensemble pretty minimal too. Some of my favorites are Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in LUV,    and MAC Lipstick in Heroine.

Red is a color that never goes out of style. Rosy reds will be your best friend in transitioning from your brighter than bright hues from the summer months. Glossy, matte, creamy, sheer any option you choose creates a totally audacious look. My favorites are Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Shanghai Sizzle, Benefit Cosmetics Benetint, and Fresh Sugar Cherry Lip Balm.

This season, have fun with your makeup, it could be all you need to update your Fall wardrobe. Fashion is all about experimenting and I'm quite excited to try out some new lip shades to look forward to the new season and swap out my bright pink glosses and balms for some seasonally appropriate hues.
