There's nothing like a space that you can call home. A place that you can be proud of and invite friends over to. Much like fashion, your home whether it be a house, an apartment or even a studio, you want it to look as good as you do when you get gussied up for an event. So you spend days at an antique furniture store, and maybe even contemporary furniture stores for inspiration and possibly new furnishings just to discover that most of it might be a bit out of your budget. And then the inspiration from those travels are quite lackluster. Recently, I've been focusing on making my home a place I would like to be welcomed to by adding new lighting, seating and linens. Sometimes a little insight on home style can help refresh your mind and open you up to new ideas. That's when I discovered TRNK.
TRNK is a home design inspiration site, for the masculine domesticity. Even though the notion is created with the dapper dude in mind, there is still a lot that a lady can take in from TRNK. The basic concept of TRNK is that its a magazine that evokes inspiration to help guide one, in the home decor shopping process by also making it into a shoppable catalog. Quality and unique home furnishings with ways to "dress" it up in your home, it has definitely become a frequented site by me!
TRNK features a section called Style Guide, in which the creators, Nick and Tariq, share their approach and ideas to style your home with beyond basic touches. There is undeniably an appreciation for men who know how to decorate their digs! Nick and Tariq both have a background in art and merchandising which makes sense for them to share their pride in beautiful homes on TRNK.
One of my favorite articles on the site, is about how to make your bland bedding into something much more cozy. Lets be honest, an insipid floral bedspread is not cozy or fabulous! Coming home to comfortable bed is usually the first thing on someone's mind after a long day of work. This article taps upon the basics for a snug bed such as bed linens, comforters, blankets and throws. Textures and minimalist designs are at the heart of the concept. While the patterns and colors are a bit too masculine, you could always take that idea and swap it out for something a little bit more feminine. Although, I'll admit some of the items featured in the story, I would use in my home! Think of it as a unisex piece. I'm definitely taking notes on how to apply their tips into my home.

Just because TRNK is a male oriented design site, that shouldn't stop any woman from getting ideas for her own living space. The concept of a content and commerce site dedicated to one's living space is much more appealing than shopping within stores. Dear readers, do you think that this might pave the way for a new manner of shopping?
