Its no secret that I love Twitter! If you know me personally, then you know I love to chat. Speaking is obviously a way of expressing one's self to others and the environment around you. Twitter helps you do exactly that in a quick and sometimes concise manner. The magic of Twitter is that it helps you connect with idols, role models, enemies, long distance friendships, and industry professionals with just the swipe of a hash tag. As seemingly easy Twitter may seem, there are definitely wrong and right ways to utilize it.
As a blogger and budding entrepreneur, it's essential for me to make use of Twitter properly because it will represent me and my brand. It's easy remembering that Twitter is basically your stream of thoughts, treat it that way but also be wary of negative thoughts, its great being real and raw with your tweets but to an extent. Here are a few ways I list how I use Twitter....
-Tweet regularly. Sending out constant tweets lets your followers know that your account isn't a dead zone. Letting your account sit without using it is the best way to lose followers.
-Tweet during the "active hours." Twitter's peak time is the best time to be connected because it maximizes your chances of exposed to many other users. I have found that peak times tend to be between the hours of 9am to 3pm. Twitter is a fast growing tool for social media, and because of that, it's also one of the top 5 apps that are checked by users upon awakening.
-Engagement. You want to make sure to show your followers that you acknowledge them and that your account is not a bot. Sure tweeting about your business or brand is great but interacting with others helps humanize your account.
-Make use of hash tags. One of the easiest ways and most exciting ways to engage with other tweeters is by using popular hash tags. This method helps you build your relationship with other Twitter users. #Twittersphere
-Tweet smarter. Twitter is about you but it's also about others. The more value you share with others the more benefits you'll reap! Tweeting negativity doesn't get you anywhere.
And there you have it, my love affair with Twitter! If you have the gift of "gab" you too should be on Twitter and share your thoughts with the world. Also, you should tweet at me @Jdavismoranti. Dear readers, do you use Twitter and if so, how do you make use of it?
