I just can't get enough of beautiful minimalism. Crisp white lines, carefully executed black separates, ingenious drapes and shapes, while staying true to it's timeless and unique nature, without being overtly trendy. Minimalist fashion is something I truly admire, over the past year I've even cleaned up my wardrobe to be much more bare. No loud colors or of the moment pieces, I've carefully curated my closet to be something more timeless, something I can continue to grow with and wear for the next five or ten years. It wasn't easy but I found inspiration from so many brands and designers to fully acknowledge what it means to have a "minimalist" fashion sense. That is exactly how I found out about Public School New York!
Public School New York started as a small brand in 2008 by designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao- Yi Chow. PSNY was born out of frustration because there was a need for something of a more relaxed suiting with street wear nuances. The look is modern, edgy, tailored sportswear for the guy or woman who appreciates high- low references. Public School NY is much more than your typical "downtown" look, anyone in PSNY is sure to make a statement!
PSNY started out as a menswear line, but soon emerged with womenswear. The women's line is just as edgy as the male counterpart. The designs are mostly of black palettes but never to be misinterpreted as Goth! PSNY shows the world that "preppydom" is not the only option, avant garde can be achieved in every day life! Their S/S '15 collection proves just that! PSNY keeps things from getting too extreme by using a limited palette of black and white, with a select few others. I'm absolutlely infatuated with the line, from loose fitting pants and dresses, to tailored vests and jackets, I'd wear them all!
Public School New York is sporty without being too casual, upscale with swagger with a unique mix of high and low. PSNY is part of a movement, one that is breaking out of the niche and showing men and women every where how to dress. Trendy fashion is not the end all be all, finding ways to be timeless just got easier, thanks to PSNY! Dear readers, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Public School New York's unique sense of fashion. How do you do timeless?
