A new season is upon us, leaves are changing and the weather is finally at a crisp, comfortable temperature for light jackets and hoodies. September also marks the new year for fashion, which also means a slew of various fashion weeks, worldwide. September is like the birth of trends to come, the runways feature the latest trends for the upcoming Spring /Summer and it's also like a new start for fashionistas everywhere to change their look. My favorite part of September? The September issues, from all over the newsstands!
The month of September is like January for the fashion world. Think of it the way men think of the Super Bowl! Millions invest in 10 second ads during prime time, just like advertisers do for the thick September glossies to help the reader stay focused on the upcoming seasons latest style choices, as put forth by high end designers and street style mavens. When we were kids, September was always the back to school month and it provided us with fresh starts and new beginnings. Vogue is probably the thickest this year, and quite honestly, every year! With 900+ beautiful pages, every single fall/winter trend showcased, and every accessory you could ever need want!
The September issues of fashion magazines are known for their thickness and various content. Some might even compare Vogue's September issue to that of NYC's yellow pages! For the fashion obsessed (read: me) browsing and admiring through websites and forums feels like a series of rituals. Case and point, the fashion in the much anticipated September glossies, start to proliferate on the internet at high speed! September is the time for new fashion trends to be newly publicized and observed by the masses.
If you're an avid magazine reader like me, then you may have noticed how prevalent the 70's trends and "military chic" are among all the magazines. In a few weeks, don't be surprised to see tailored tops and utilitarian jackets and pants through out your favorite stores! But have you ever wondered how many products are featured in ALL of the magazines throughout the month of September?
