I recently attended an event for the third year celebration of Stardust Magazine. As some of you might remember, I used to intern for Stardust in the early days of Burgundy Whispers as a fashion coordinator and stylist. In those days, you could always find me running around and trying to keep things organized. I may have been frantic but the end results were always wonderful, when the latest issues were revealed to the public. Such gratification, and now that the magazine is in it's third year, I couldn't be happier, even if i'm not a part of the process!
Stardust magazine was created by a fellow alumni from my alma mater, Sophie Xu. Her vision for Stardust Magazine has exceeded all expectations, even her own! Stardust was created to show the fashion world that Philadelphia has a high concentration of style to invoke. I like to describe the Stardust style as avant garde, from latex body suits to suede chaps! Style is what you make of it and thinking outside of the box is frequent for Stardust Magazine, I also like to think it's fans are also the same way too!
The third year celebration was just in time for the release of the 8th issue for Stardust Magazine called Uniform. The fashion seen in this issue are somewhat reminiscent of what you would see during fall and the dawn of those early school days, hence "uniform!" But of course Stardust takes it up a notch and dresses up it's fabulous models in ways you wouldn't ever have thought up on your own!
The celebration was held in Ninobrand Atelier, in Rittenhouse. Ninobrand is one of my absolute favorite local fashion designers with it's minimalist and functional aesthetic. It only makes sense that Stardust Magazine and Ninobrand would combine their great forces! Right now, for a limited time you can get a physical copy of Uniform, first ever print edition for the magazine. Dear readers, you should do yourself a favor and check out Stardust Magazine!
