The Naked Truth

As a vertically challenged person (read 5'4), I'm constantly on the look out for ways to elongate my figure. From wearing high waisted bottoms to wearing belts at the middle of my waist and even wearing midi skirts. The challenge is on, even if I never find the solution but this time I think I have! Nude shoes might seem a bit blasé but really, this important piece of our wardrobe never goes out of style and goes with everything! 

This timeless closet staple gives the illusion of longer, slimmer legs. The key to nailing this style is finding the right pair to match your skin tone, much like finding the right concealer. Once you do find the right pair, you'll be amazed at how brilliantly it matches with everything. I believe that there's something inherently sexy about a nude shoe, it garners a timeless allure and flatters everyone! Did I mention its also the perfect day to night, office to party shoe?! Versatility like that is always welcomed into my closet! Nude shoes don't scream for attention, instead it does exactly what every great shoe should do, turn the spotlight on the woman wearing it.  I've provided some of my favorite nude choices below! 

If you know me, then you must know my great love for sneakers, especially Nike! This is the perfect off duty shoe and great for anyone who chooses to be comfortable more often than not. This Air Max Thea is crafted with beige leather and a cushioned sole, unfortunately it only comes in one nude color option which means it won't elongate everyone's legs, cue the sad face emoji! 

Christian Louboutin listened to what women want and created the perfect Nudes collection for every complexion. Colors ranging from fair blush to rich chestnut. Patented calfskin leather with a very comfortable four inch heel. Unfortunately, these shoes are not very budget friendly, but a girl can dream!  

I love for pumps to have a bit of character in them, because a basic pump is boring. This pair by Steve Madden has a d'Orsay style, it curves into the foot to give more "cleavage!" This style also comes in other neutral shades to match many complexions! I personally love this style, its budget friendly and not sky high uncomfortable. 

Pumps are great but mules are much more unexpected! This pair by Nasty Gal, the Naomi mule, is the perfect compliment to any cocktail dress and has two tones to play with. This pair is a great choice for those of you that want to break out of your comfort zone and try something new! It only comes in one shade but at least it's affordable, and for women at the darker end of the spectrum (read: me) it would make a great tonal shoe for all of your minimalist ensembles! 

Nude heels and shoes are an essential for every woman. The perfect go with all shoe that gives you confidence you never knew you had. After years of trying to look taller, I think I've finally found the trick to a longer and leaner silhouette! This piece of your wardrobe will never go out of style.
