Quite literally in all parts of my life, I'm about efficiency especially when it comes to doing my makeup. Products that can serve a doubly duty and the ones that help you look great in a limited amount of time are my best friends! In the last few years, as life has become much more busy for me, I feel like I'm always in a rush to get somewhere, and ahem always running slightly late, I've built a solid five minute beauty routine. Some days I will have more time to be more elaborate with the look, but five minutes is my usual!
Step One) After cleansing, I always prep my face with a moisturizer, this one in particular by Glossier called Priming Moisturizer, is quite ingenious because it combines the ability of a primer too. I never really cared much for primers until I found out that one of the benefits of using them is that they help your makeup last longer throughout the day. Now that it's becoming summer in Philly, it's pretty crucial to have something with staying power on your face or the humidity will cause you to sweat it off!
Step Two) I then apply a light coverage of foundation/ BB cream to my face using the Beauty Blender sponge to really make sure it's applied evenly. Lately I've been using CoverGirl's Queen Collection Liquid Makeup, in golden honey. By using the sponge as my applicator it helps me avoid the use of putting on concealer because of it's blending power.
Step Three) Next, I like to strengthen the look of my eyebrows with an added touch of Anastasia's Dip Brow Pomade in medium brown. I use a brow brush by Sigma Beauty to fill them in. All about the brows, but never go heavy in the middle of your brow shape or else!
Step Four) As I have mentioned earlier, dual products are my go to when I'm in a rush, Glossier's Balm Dot Com does just that. It's mostly recommended to be used as a lip balm but I also like to use it as a natural highlighter on the top of my cheek bones and brow bone. It helps me achieve that naturally flushed look without ever looking unnatural.
Step Five) I add a light line of liquid eyeliner at the base of my top lashes with Eyeko's Fat Liquid Eyeliner. Also, not shown, I brush my lashes with a sweep of CoverGirl's Queen Collection False Lash Drama in black. I like to build the weight at the base rather then at the ends to give it a natural look.
Step Six) In the irises of my eyes, I like to dab some highlighter to really "awaken" my eyes. I do this with the use of BBrowBar's Brow Highlighter. I never leave home without my highlighter!
Step Seven) Finally, to top it all off, I use Glossier's Generation G in jam (similar), to my lips for a boost to my natural lip color.
Then just give you hair a little swish and get going! There you have it, my everyday, five minute makeup look! It's simple, easy and universal for anyone to try. Dear readers, what is your five minute makeup routine like?
