I love watching fashion shows, I also adore all of the couture and imaginative visuals that fashion designers can provide for mine and other fashion addicts' eyes to see. While the avant garde sartorial style is a view for the dreamers, it's not really practical for the everyday use. Until then I'll keep dreaming of the day that I can proudly walk around in a leather hoody or see through boots! For now, I'll keep things rational, but don't get me wrong, boring is never the option! I like to think of my style reflecting the normcore tradition, many people tend to believe it's simply a t- shirt, jeans and sneaker trend but there's a lot more to it. Normcore, which simply blends "normal' and "hardcore" aesthetics is more than just picking the first shirt from your closet and pairing it with another basic, this style is based on an accurate analysis to find the perfect everyday, timeless items.

Normcore seems to be having a major moment right now, I believe it's a style that has been around forever. The underlying theme with normcore is that it's time- tested and ageless movement, your favorite basic pieces never go out of style think Steve Jobs, Jerry Seinfeld, Daria Morgendorfer, and Liz Lemon as the normcore advocates.
I have quite a large wardrobe, but I always return to the classics because sometimes you just want to be comfortable and get going with your day. For me that means black jeans and crew neck tees. My favorite black jeans hail from Jbrand, super comfortable and fits all my curves. Club Monaco, Gap, and Jcrew all carry great basic tees, especially crew necks in linen, cotton and modal fabrics to keep you comfortable all day. As a refined minimalist, black and white stripes tend to be my go to.
Calvin Klein underwear is probably one of the most comfortable under garments I've ever worn, it literally hugs your body. I think the most important part of normcore dressing is the footwear, cozy and snug is crucial to get going on your daily errands. Keds is stylish and oh so comfortable, perfect for the fashionista everywhere!
Of course normcore doesn't only conclude with clothing but also with your toiletries and beauty products. Covergirl, Lubriderm, Burt's Bees, Chanel No. 5 and Diptyque are a few products that I always return to. Sure I might wander off to other products occasionally but I always come back to the tried and tested products that cater to my skincare needs.
There's always a hunger to find the next best thing, sometimes the very best is already in your closet. Movements get created every other day, this "normcore" movement is here to stay for years to come because people are starting to realize it's something that's already within them. Get back to basics! Dear readers, how do you feel about normcore?
