Let's be honest, perfect skin is a myth! With everything that we do to try to achieve that perfect glowing, smooth, pore less complexion how can there actually be perfection? For my skin I definitely go through a process. From different types of exfoliators to moisturizers and brushes, don't even get me started on how many different kinds of primers and serums I have, whole other blog post! If ever there were a perfect time to figure out your skincare routine, it would be at the start of a new season! Here's a look at what I've added to my rotation....
One product I absolutely start my day with is always lotion, as a woman of color it's even more pertinent for me. Moisturizing is key to help keep your skin's elasticity and health, which is why I use Lubriderm's Daily Moisture lotion. Nothing worse than wearing your favorite dress with ashy skin! Lubriderm helps me combat that problem.
I'm always after the infamous dewy glow, naturally glowing skin that requires little to no makeup. In my dreams, right?! Luckily Aveeno's Positively Radiant collection can provide me with a gorgeous glow with a spa like experience. The 60 Second Shower Facial and Overnight Hydrating Facial make my face feel like a newborn baby's butt every time, i've even forgotten to put on moisturizer one morning because of how soft and dewy my skin felt.
The eyes say it all, and if you are tired, your eyes will also say so too. Don't you love it when your co workers tell you how tired you look? No, me neither! Roc Retinol Correction eye cream helps prevent that by visibly reducing any puffiness, and dark circles under your eyes to give you that "slept like a baby" look! I use it at night before bed to give myself a true beauty sleep!
If you're like me and have naturally oily skin, the oil slick is a constant battle. Throughout the day my face will produce excess oil, even when I'm at a desk working all day. I love Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets to counter the midday sheen, it also does not smudge your makeup or leave behind a weird residue, it simply removes the sheen. Best part is, that it's compact and fits into your wallet or pocket to take anywhere.
On late nights, the last thing on your mind is cleaning up or doing much of anything that isn't sleeping! But alas as you know it's never a good idea to go to bed with makeup on, it seeps into your pores, gets on your pillow case, mascara is even more stubborn to take off the next day. I've been using Neutrogena's Cleansing Towelettes to get rid of my makeup, it's also great to have after a gym workout too. Ofcourse you can't forget to moisturize your lips, Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Lip Treatment is a wonderful infusion of intense conditioning and hydration. Waking up to better skin is always a plus!
And last but not least in my rotation is It Cosmetic's Miracle Water. This toner keeps my face glowing on top of using Aveeno, by infusing micellar water with anti aging properties to keep my skin highlighted naturally throughout the day, I mean that in most literal sense! A swipe of Miracle Water in the AM and PM keeps my face radiant!
The key to my routine is moisturizing, winter is coming and I'm going to be prepared for what the weather may bring this year! Moisturized skin is skin that doesn't need a lot of makeup and for lazy girls like myself, that's always a plus. Now I can fake the perfect skin look with grace! Dear readers what products are in your current skincare rotation?
