I've read many beauty articles that claim French women have the best skincare, i've always wondered why that is? Could it be their effortlessly simple makeup routine, or their natural glow from within, dew? I've actually learned recently that their secret weapon of choice is micellar water, this magical water is a skincare game changer and I knew I had to try it out for myself!
All products have been purchased on my own, words by me. |
You might be asking asking yourself, what is micellar water?! I felt the same way about it, like what is the point of adding another step to my regime when it already seems like I do enough already? Then I did my research and found out all about the benefits of this extra step, it works harder than just regular water to wipe out the excess oils left behind. It's also a great alternative to makeup wipes.
“They work like a miniature sponge, mopping up dirt and makeup while hydrating your skin. Micelles have an oil-loving ‘tail’ that traps dirt, oil, and makeup and a water-loving ‘head’ that allows the micelles to dissolve impurities so they can easily be wiped away.”
Here's a look at the waters i've been using....
Garnier Skinactive Micellar Water
- This self-proclaimed all-in-one micellar water removes makeup, cleanses, and freshens up the skin. It did it's job and left my skin feeling amazing.
It Cosmetics Miracle Water
- This is strong enough to take off long-wearing foundation. This one also has skin improving properties like anti aging and skin brightening.
Loreal Micellar Cleansing Water
- this micellar water is super hydrating and great for dry, sensitive, or acne-prone skin. This one is the one I like to call the no tricks or hype water. It even removes stubborn waterproof mascara. It does it's job and that's it!
Sure, I was skeptical about adding another item to my already long skincare routine, but as soon as I tried micellar for my skin, I was hooked! Do yourself a favor and try out one of these or any micellar waters, your skin will thank you! Dear readers, have you tried any of these products out?
